Ezekiel and his litter mates were born to a Waukegan stray. The kittens had a safe start but they were socialized later than ideal and needed additional time and experience to learn to trust people. After they were placed in an experienced foster home, Zeke the began to show his great personality.
Zeke is a funny little guy. He was, in many ways, the most wild in his litter, but he is a sweet, simple boy who really loves tasty food, any kind of playtime, and belly rubs—so he was very easily influenced and made a lot of progress. When he gets going, he purrs loudly, gives loving licks (and gentle chomps), and will roll around in your lap, sometimes for hours. He loves to be where the people are and get involved with whatever they’re doing, even though he is still more nervous than an average, well-adjusted kitten his age and will sometimes spook for silly reasons. He’ll need an understanding and patient family who will work with him to bring out all his best qualities.
He’s a super playful boy and loves other cats, but he’s a bit of a big, dumb brute. He makes his much smaller sister scream when they wrestle and is oblivious when she’s done having fun, and he’ll even slowly bonk his big mitts at adult cats to try to get them to play. He needs to go to a home with a young, sturdy feline playmate or be adopted along with another sturdy kitten so he can get some of this energy out. He hasn’t lived with dogs but likes watching them on TV and would probably learn to love a calm, cat-friendly dog. Because he loves to gently play-bite and is a little nervous, we don’t think he’d be a good option for younger kids.
