Buckley turned up at a Winthrop Harbor colony as a lone, totally weaned kitten, a little past the ideal age for socialization. But the caretakers had 6 other kittens Buckley's age in foster care and felt they had to give this adorable little guy a chance at a better life. He's come a long way from the terrified boy they trapped but he is still a bit timid and slow to warm up to new situations and new people. If you're patient and work with him he's also a little sweetie who loves cheek scratches and thankfully is very food motivated if you want to speed up the bonding process! He also adores other cats and loves to wrestle with his long lost cousins. Since he is shy with people and loves other cats so much he even more than most kittens needs to be adopted in a home with an existing young cat he can play with or alongside another kitten friend. He's has had some indirect dog exposure and could probably adapt slowly with a very calm, cat experienced dog, but he wouldn't be our first choice for a home with a loud, rambunctious dog that would make it harder for him to relax. Buckley would definitely be better for older kids that can be calm and patient as they work to earn his trust.
